Taking a mental picture...

Saturday night was the big birthday dinner for Grandma. The parental units were in the kitchen all day prepping everything and getting it all set. Two of grandma's friends came over it was surely a night that I hope I never forget. (although really not as good as least year's 80th surprise birthday) Grandma's friends were very impressed with the dinner. The conversation was also one I will not soon forget. I have huge respect for their age groups and feel I can learn a lot just by listening to them. I love to hear about their memories from back in the day and sharing their views on today's world.
The best conversation was when we started talking about the internet, google and then iphone. I wish I had my camera out for the look on their faces when I told them about googling dates, friends and anyone else you want to know about. They were all so excited that they wanted me to google them and see what came up, they were even more impressed when I busted out my pink cell phone and did it!
Grandma was excited about the lighter on the iphone, so I just had to get a picture of her "rockin out" with her flame.

The joys of being with Grandma!

Time with Grandma always brings new adventures. A few grandma-isms we have already been lucky enough to have shared with us...

1) "I turned up the heat because you are from California!" We were all wondering how the heat got so high, none of us could sleep it was so dang hot! We all had to stand outside in the 30 degree weather just to catch our breath!

2) "Did you know those bordello girls dress really scantily... I have always wanted to do a tour of the bordellos."
Above was our dinner conversation. A few of Grandma's friends had taken a tour of one. Grandma said she didn't know that women go in too! It was pretty funny. The restaurant was so quite everyone heard the conversation...I was laughing so hard I was crying.

3) "Do you think the big TV is overwhelming in the living room?" Little does she know, everyone now days has huge TV's in their living rooms

I love my grandma!

My Family...

I am so silly! Not only have I been lagging on my blog, but I have been skipping events! What the french toast? Anyway, instead of exchanging gifts this year, the fam decided to do a dinner out on the town! We had such a good time, great food and lots of wine, plus the parental units paid! Can't beat that!! It was great bonding time! It was such a good idea! Can't wait for next year!
D trying to take bike since the train took so long!

Visiting Utah.

I have a love hate relationship with Utah. I love to visit my friends, but I hate the cold! But I had to attend to some family business, so I flew up there last week to visit. I am lucky enough to have some great friends out there (I heart Lins!!) and some friends turned family. All in all, I always end up enjoying going back to the homeland. Plus I get to hang out with the cutest kids! This was a fun day with the girls. Besides the egg incident. I miss them already.

I taught Stetson computer games, she seemed to like it!
Me and my step-sister... lol seems so weird saying that about someone you have been friends with since the 8th grade! We just had to go see Twilight. (and no I will not admit how many times I have seen it!)

My brother is cool.

My brother. Well he is a pretty cool kid. Can I still call him a kid? He'll probably not like that I called him that, but he is my little brother, so he always will be a kid in some sense. There are times when he seems older than me. His wisdom on certain subjects is very insightful (other subjects I strongly question). When it is just him & me, there is a calm that he brings to me.

I was so glad to spend time with him over the Thanksgiving holiday. We ditched the Parental Units and went over to Santa Cruz to play around. We played video games, had drinks on the beach and almost rode the roller coaster. Can't top a day like that!
D giving me the annoyed look because I made a Twilight reference.
Shooting away. He was nice enough to shoot all the stuff I pointed out.

I miss him already! But Christmas is just around the corner...

Giving Thanks...

Family. I love my family. I am very lucky to have such a close family. Thanksgiving is my favorite time because no matter where we all are... we end up together. There was plenty of food, wine and cards to keep us busy. I can't wait till I see Grandma again!

Me & G-ma!
The fam tasting homemade beer! Thanks to my blind g-ma for taking the pic!

So many things to blog...

Okay, I have been totally lagging on things. I have no internet at my house right now! ::gasp:: I am thinking about enrolling in sometype of addiction program. I am having major issues without it. Luckily I have cool parental units and they are letting me use their computer at their house. (Thanks parental units!!!)

Anyway- Grandma came in to town today. It was a total surprise. A very good surprise!! So we all went out to dinner. Now we are all just hanging out and catching up. At dinner they decided to stay another day. Wahoo!! So I get to show grandma around tomorrow. I am so excited to show her where I work and introduce her to some people.

Although work has been crazy this week, I have to say, my personal life is going awesome. My count down to Italy has began (less than 30 days!!) and other "projects" for September are going nicely.

All in all, I still sit back and wonder.... how the heck did I get so lucky???
