Twilight... the book

I ordered the whole Twilight series online. I got them Tuesday. I started the first book, Twilight, on yesterday evening and I just finished it. I couldn't put it down! I am taking a break for Thanksgiving... but I can't wait to start the second book New Moon.

For the record, the book is even better than the movie! WAY BETTER.

Movie Time: Twilight

Twilight... oh Twilight.
I will admit, I haven't read the books yet. But don't you worry, the moment I got home from the movie, I bought the whole series on Amazon.
I have really been into the new HBO series True Blood (and I already ordered those books a few weeks ago) so when I heard of a movie that was based around the same concept, I automatically was intrigued. I had no idea what a cult phenomenon Twilight was.

After seeing the movie, I understand why the books are such a hit! If the books are even half as good as the movie (which I have heard the books are better!!!) then I am hooked.
The movie was pure awesomeness and I can't wait for the sequel!!

If anyone wants to go... I will go with them again... no problem! And I promise, I won't scream this time.

Movie Time: James Bond

A few of my friends are super into James Bond. Last summer they dragged me to the new James Bond movie. I was just excited to see Daniel Craig! It ended up that I loved the movie! So this year I was excited when the new James Bond came out... we just had to go again.

Quantum of Solace. I would say it was good for a sequel. The story line was a little fast, so at the end I was bummed because it didn't seem like we were sitting in the theater for that long. It was more action packed than any movie I have ever seen.

Don't think I would buy it on dvd, but the company I was with made it worth it. :)

Equal Rights for All...

I am a proud supporter of Equal Rights for all. So when I heard of the chance to be part of a nation wide rally I became even more excited. I chose this particular rally because it wasn't protesting any church or people, it was about loving all no matter their opinion. Treat others how you want to be treated. Seeing Amos Brown speak was also amazing. (Google him!) I am so proud to have participated and be part of something that is bigger than me. It was such an amazing feeling standing there side by side so many people that had so much love and passion. The speeches were amazing and then a choir got up and sang the theme from Rent. AMAZING.

I urge everyone to really think about human rights as a whole. We are all born how our Heavenly Father made us. Why should any of us have different rights than the next just because we were born one way or another? Me being straight doesn't make me anymore special than anyone else, so why should I have special privileges? I think back to when women couldn't vote, couldn't own land, even have equal pay... men were scared to give us equal rights and look how far we have come. I hope we can continue on the path of giving rights to all.

Fairy Time.

I was lucky enough to spend the evening with my favorite family the K family. I didn't think it was possible to fall in love all over again with JLK, but I did. The minute she put her little forehead on mine, nose to nose, I was hooked.

We eat here everytime we are together & take a picture.
Me & Tony goofin off. He makes a good drink!
Love her! So cute!
Libby mean muggin' me.
Tony working my sunglasses. He begged to keep them...
We played hide and seek for about an hour! Poor fairy was so tired. But it was worth every minute hearing her giggle.
It was a good night! I am always happy whenever I get to spend time with the K family. I love that we have our own little traditions. These are the kind of nights that make my week.

Oh Italy...

Hazel sent me a picture of me being a disco diva in Florence. It got me thinking about Italy. So I downloaded the rest of my pictures. I had such a fun time! I miss the friends I made, but I love thinking about all the good times.
At a truck stop outside of Florence.
Our last night in Venice in San Marco's square.
I miss the wine! And yes...I am drinking red!
The Guggenheim in Venice. I loved the art!
Hazel, Marlo and I on our last night in Rome. We were the rowdy bunch!

Yummy. Dessert Shots. We are sad because they are all gone.
My Dad tasting the same shot. I guess he didn't like it.
Still wishing I could go back. But alas, reality is in full swing. I can't wait till I can meet up with all the Italy girls and we can go back down memory lane and drink some great wine!!

Stephanie's Anatomy

So I have had a fun last 24 hours. Cole (my roomie and paddle sister!) decided to get sick. Well, to be honest, I don't really think it was her decision, lol. But either way, there was 911, an ambulance and a VERY LONG night all involved. I maintained my cool for the entire time until I had to call her parents. I think it was at that point that I finally let my "mama lion" (as Nicole calls it) down and finally started grasping the entire situation.

Top 5 highlights of the 24 hour visit...1) Yelling at the guy cursing outside Cole's doorway and asking him to take it somewhere else. 2) Dodgers boy (really, who hits on a girl when she is with a sick person?) 3) Seeing Cole's heart on TV, pretty cool technology 4) Sleeping on the emergency room floor 5) Cole telling the Nurse she didn't want to see her face again.

Cole is at home resting now and is a lot better. All in all a very LONG night!

Today is the day...

Never have a felt so passionate about voting then I do this time. Never have I spent the time to read ALL of the text of the props. I am proud to say I voted today. I am so excited to find out who gets elected, either way, it is going to be historical, and I can tell the future young adults in my life that I was part of it.

As for Prop 8 here in California. (http://www.noonprop8.com) I am sad to say that people are still not realizing the impact of voting Yes on this prop. Someone sent on of my friends a very negative (and uneducated) text saying that Prop 8 goes against Jesus. Seriously? Honestly, it just made me cry. It is said that people are that ignorant. I really hope that Prop 8 does not pass.

School Time...

I NEVER EVER thought I would be typing this but... I am officially a student again. I just enrolled in my first college class since I graduated in 2004. It was rather weird enrolling, but I am very excited. I didn't think I would ever go back to school, in fact, I think I vowed on my last day that I would never be back.
But here I am! Like so many other current adventures in my life, I am starting off with just a toe in the pool and we will see where it goes from there. But, I am excited to test the waters!

JLK Turns One!!

Today we celebrated my god-daughter turning one. I also got to see her walk for the first time. Every time she does something new it amazes me. Her walking is so cute, she has only been doing it for a week so she is still a little shaky.
A little over a year ago I remember the exciting phone call that Sunday night. JLK was born. Just her coming into this world was a blessing that everyone was waiting for. A few months later I was honored enough to be asked, and become a permanent fixture in her life by being her God-Mother. Becoming her god-mother was one of the best things that ever happened to me.
Words will never explain how much it means to me to have JLK in my life. She has made me a softy and brought a new perspective on a lot of things. But best of all, JLK has also brought happiness to two people that I couldn't want it more for.
I know that this will be the first of many, many more years of birthday celebrations and I know that I will be there for all of them, being the proud god-mother that I am.

Fairy and tinkerbell. (2 fairies!)
Happy Birthday JLK!!!
